Workshop in botanical drawing 🌿

Join us for an inspiring afternoon where we explore botanical drawing with beautiful flowers from Cut Flowers as living models.

Through a combination of artistic techniques, biological observation and small elements from mindfulness, you learn to see flowers with new eyes. We train our eyes to discover shapes, proportions, colours and the unique details that make each flower special — and bring the drawing to life.

We work mainly with oil pastels, a vibrant and expressive material suitable for both beginners and experienced draftsmen. The material makes it easier to let go of perfectionism and invites a freer, more exploratory drawing process. But you will also be able to choose to use watercolor pencils. Along the way, you will get a short demonstration, individual guidance and plenty of time to work on your own drawing.

You choose for yourself which flower you want to draw among the flowers in the store, and all materials are included.

The workshop is suitable both for those who have never drawn before, and for those who want new inspiration and a fresh look at botanical art.

About the course holder

Maria Waag is a biologist, botanical artist and mindfulness teacher. She combines natural sciences, art and dissemination in her teaching.

Over the years, she has worked with botanical illustration in various techniques, including watercolor, pencil and oil pastel. She is committed to making botanical drawing accessible to all, creating a safe and inspiring space where participants can explore both creativity and observation -- without a focus on achievement or perfection.

Her wish is for participants to not only learn new technical drawing techniques, but also experience the joy of truly seeing nature — and perhaps discovering flowers in a whole new way. 🌿
